Coming Along

I was not born in the computer age. In fact, I was almost middle-aged before I was plunged into the computer world. It was not a fun ride. I was totally terrified by these "things" that I could sense hated me. How did I know? Because everytime I would touch one, it would crash on me. I could be doing the exact same thing that had just been done a few minutes before by the person trying to teach me how to operate one of these machines...and it would still freeze up and crash. Just like that. Frustration led me to back away from the whole idea and say to just forget it. Wrong!!! It seemed that computers were to be a part of my future and my children's futures so I had to just get with the program and deal with this new era. So, I decided that I would just jump in because whatever the condition of the waters, I was going to have to swim for it. I enrolled in a couple of computer programs at the local JC. The first course was for people who were afraid of computers. Fit me to a "t". The teacher was great and I learned a lot, but these things were definitely NOT user friendly. After that I went for Word and Excel, only I don't think it was Excel at that time, but due to the CRS I have, I can't remember the exact name. Well, to make a long story short, I have continued the learning process although I seem to be leap years behind most other people. However, I am enjoying the current internet capabilities and am learning how to be part of the "blog" world. Grandma may be slow, but it is cuz I am getting older. If I were a young whipper snapper, I would have had all this mastered eons ago. So, give me a break, ok?
